Data Research Intern, CartoDB

CartoDB in Brooklyn is developing an exciting new tool, the Data Observatory, to bring public data more easily into everyday users' maps.

The Data Observatory will bring in hundreds of high-value geo-enabled data sets from around the world, focusing on demographic and economic data.  In the cases when these are free and publicly accessible, poor documentation and formatting still hobbles their usability.  The Observatory will provide a well-documented and searchable index focused on discoverability and enabling high-quality location-based analysis of user data.
